I don't feel well, what do I do?

Primary Care

At Oregon State University, our primary care team is here to support your overall well-being while you’re a student. Our team of doctors, nurse practitioners, physician associates and clinic staff are dedicated to helping you stay healthy, whether it’s for a routine check up or a specific medical issue. Primary care includes many areas of focus, such as mental health, reproductive and contraceptive care, gender affirming care, and asthma management.

Mental Health

We provide mental well-being evaluations and manage both acute and chronic mental health conditions — this may include medication as well as other treatment options. Our collaborative care approach includes your OSU Student Health primary care provider, mental health care specialist, and psychiatrist consultant. Our wraparound care focuses on meeting students specific needs; we also offer referrals as needed for additional services.

Reproductive & Sexual Health

Our health clinic is a trusted first stop for most reproductive and sexual health concerns. We offer a range of services, including comprehensive sexual health care; gynecologic care, including routine well-person exams, pelvic exams and cervical cancer screenings; and contraceptive counseling. We also offer all types of birth control and many students may access free birth control through the Oregon ContraceptiveCare program.

Referrals and Authorizations

What is a referral?

Are you interested in pursuing specialist care (psychiatry, rheumatology, dermatology, sports medicine, MRI, etc.) beyond the services available at OSU Student Health? While your insurance may not require a referral for coverage or reimbursement, many specialist offices may ask for a referral in order to schedule an appointment for you.

We are happy to assist with a referral to a community provider. Contact us at 541-737-9355 (541-737-WELL) or visit the patient portal to schedule a visit with one of our providers to discuss your care and a referral. For prior authorizations, please make sure your insurance is current and active, and ensure that your patient portal is active.
