Clinical services

Students who are registered and pay the university health fee have access to clinical services at all SHS clinic locations. The health fee covers most office visits with our providers, including primary care, allergy visits, nutrition consults, substance use counseling, tobacco cessation, and more (excluding lab work or procedures)!

 

  

Collegiate Recovery PROGRAM

For students in active recovery from alcohol or substance abuse, the CRP provides an opportunity for students to enjoy a social life with additional support in a recovery-first environment. 

 

  

Getting to/From shs in Corvallis

The Coast to Valley Express service 7 days a week between the Albany train station and Newport, with stops in Corvallis. More information about transportation around and beyond the Corvallis campus is available from the Department of Transportation.

 

  

Health insurance

We offer a university-sponsored health insurance plan for domestic or international students who want the best coverage at our clinics. Graduate students plans are handled through the Office of Human Resources.

    

Health promotion

Find information and resources about sexual healthnutritionsleeptobacco cessation and infectious diseases on this site, as well as phone numbers to call for more information. Office visits to address any of these concerns are covered by the university health fee.

 

  

Immunization requirements

If you have questions or need assistance meeting the university’s requirements, the immunization office is available to assist at 541-737-7573.

 

  

Medical advice nurse line

All Oregon State students can receive medical advice from a nurse by phone 24 hours a day free of charge at 541-737-2724. After hours, a medical call center will respond to calls made to 541-737-9355.

  

Prevention and wellness programs

Workshops on a variety of health topics are available to students by request. Throughout the year, we offer many opportunities for students to celebrate health and wellness, such as the Red Zone, Boldly Me Health Week, the Transgender Resource Fair and Take Back the Night. Watch the university events calendar for details. At no charge, students can access self-assessments related to substance abuse (e-CHUG & e-TOKE), AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention learning modules. 

The Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education is available to students 24 hours a day to receive support after experiencing sexual harassment, assault, or interpersonal violence. CAPE advocates provide information to aid in informed decision-making, including information about rights and reporting options, and can help with safety planning, class accommodations, and more. Services are confidential and free. 

Oregon Contraceptive Care allows us to provide free reproductive health care and contraceptive services to students, regardless of gender. Those who meet income criteria are eligible for this program.
