Sexual Assault Prevention for Adult Learners (SAPAL) is an interactive course that addresses the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment.
The course acknowledges that these topics are not limited to your life at school - they can impact your family life, your work, and the rest of your life outside of your involvement at Oregon State University.
The course encourages students to reflect on their personal values when it comes to relationships; uses scenarios from diverse perspectives to provide a relevant and inclusive experience; challenges harmful and demeaning language and attitudes; and provides guidance for supporting a friend, family member, or colleague who may have experienced sexual violence.
SAPAL is a two-part course with a 30-day waiting period between each part.
Check your ONID email for your specific due dates for each part of the course.
*Please note that part 2 of the course will not be accessible until after your 30-day waiting period and you must finish part 2 to receive credit for completing the course.
You've come to Oregon State University to study, work, and make connections that will influence the rest of your professional life.
These topics are not limited to your life at school and can impact anyone, anywhere, regardless of student status.
All OSU students are part of our campus community and therefore part of the change that we seek to initiate with SAPAL - you too can play a role in creating environments that are healthy, safe, and welcoming.
Failure to complete each part of SAPAL will result in a grades hold on your student account.
Please note that this type of hold does not impact your ability to register for classes.
The only way to lift this hold is to complete each part of the required courses.
Once you complete the part of the course, the hold will be lifted from your account within 24 hours of completion.
