Student Health Services

Student Health Services is fortunate to employ a team of highly qualified health professionals who are dedicated to improving and maintaining the wellness of the entire OSU community. These caring individuals appreciate the unique environment of a university campus. They find it stimulating to work with people like college students who are eager to become equal partners in their health care and who are, in most instances, motivated to learn what they can do to stay well.

Each health professional at SHS has his or her own individual reasons for working in this public-owned medical facility. Many value the educational opportunities or having more time to spend with family. What you can be sure of is that every health professional at SHS is appropriately credentialed as required by Oregon law, and that he or she pursues regular continuing education and practices in accordance with accepted standards.

It’s true that SHS staff, especially physicians and other clinicians, could probably earn more money in the private sector. All the more reason they are appreciated for sharing their talents, as they contribute to the health of OSU.
