IMPACT is a program designed for OSU students to engage in a focused and meaningful discussion about alcohol or other substance use. During your IMPACT session, not only will you be provided with personalized feedback regarding your use but also a variety of harm-reduction strategies to help encourage social responsibility and personal safety.

IMPACT programs are made available to all students, but may be required for those students who have been sanctioned by the Residence Hall system, Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, Corvallis Municipal Court, the Benton County Circuit Court, the City Attorney’s Office, or other off-campus referral sources. When sanctioned, there is a mandatory $125 fee to complete IMPACT. This fee contributes to the cost of facilitating the IMPACT program and employing graduate assistants within the Alcohol, Other Drug and Violence Prevention Center.

  • If you have been sanctioned to complete IMPACT Alcohol, you can expect to attend at least two sessions that are approximately two hours each. Since our program strives to address the needs of the individual, some students made need to have a One-on-One session with IMPACT staff before attending these two sessions.  Please see below for registration instructions.
  • If you have been sanctioned to complete IMPACT Marijuana, you can expect to attend one session lasting approximately one hour. Please see below for registration instructions.
  • If you have taken IMPACT previously, please e-mail our staff at impact@oregonstate.edu in order to be reactivated and sent a new initial enrollment survey.

Overall, the IMPACT program is guided by the mission of Oregon State University and is committed to stimulating a lasting attitude of inquiry and openness, while promoting individual health and wellness. The IMPACT program offers multiple levels of intervention for students as based on their need and reason for referral.

If you have any questions regarding our program, contact us at impact@oregonstate.edu.
