Welcome to Oregon State University!

We have a strong institutional commitment to academics, student growth, and the development of individual responsibility. To further these goals, the university embraces the concept that catastrophic financial risks while attending the university should be minimized.

For E-campus students

Domestic, degree-seeking Ecampus students who live within 50 miles of OSU's Corvallis campus are eligible to purchase insurance coverage through Oregon State University.

Ecampus students must be registered for a minimum of 6 credits if an undergraduate or 3 credits if a graduate student.

For new students and families

All students are strongly encouraged to have some form of health insurance. Proof of health insurance is required for international students. SHS also offers student health insurance.

We recommend adequate health insurance coverage

At this time international students are required to enroll in the OSU insurance plan. OSU requires that all non-resident international students and their dependents (living in the United States) be covered by health insurance.

The health insurance must meet federal, state and OSU requirements (OAR 576-025-0020). For more information on adding a dependent to your OSU health insurance, contact the Student Health Insurance office at 541-737-7600.

Graduate assistants, graduate fellows, and postdoctoral scholar and fellows have a separate mandatory health insurance plan through their appointment or fellowship.
