Effexor
Question: I am a regular marijuana smoker and have recently started taking Effexor to control my anxiety problems. My doctor is aware of my smoking and says there shouldn't be a problem. Do you agree?
Answer: NO, SPOT does not agree that marijuana and Effexor should be combined. Marijuana can cause anxiety and depression. So if you are taking Effexor for anxiety problems and you are smoking marijuana, which could be causing your anxiety problems, then the Effexor and the marijuana counteract with each other. If you want the Effexor to be an effective treatment for your anxiety problems, then you should not smoke marijuana.
